The Rendezvous

Copyright: Jean L Hays

I watched the early morning rays of the sun fall on the cafe as I waited for her. I was meeting her for breakfast as this was the time of the day that she liked the most- morning. When I knew that she was back in town, I couldn’t be happier. It was years since I last met her. Though the memories of those years long gone were now fugacious, her memories were ever so fresh. The opening of the door broke my reverie. She smiled. It was as if time stood still. This time I wasn’t letting her go.
